3rd National Racketlon Championship.

3rd National Racketlon Championship was organized at Nehru Stadium, Indore on 4th and 5th of February’12. About 63 participants from all over the India joined. Earlier the venue was fixed at a hotel named Sayaji, but due to some inevitable reasons the venue was changed to Nehru stadium where Table Tennis and Badminton court facilities are there. For Lawn tennis the participants had to move to a nearby school named Kamala Nehru School , where participants  played tennis there. And for Squash , since the Squash Court was not nearby the stadium, hence the competition on Squash was dropped. The participants were agreed to play with 3 events as large number of them are new to Squash.

RFI Executive President , Mr. Manoranjan Mishra was present during the tournament , though the place was about 1700 Kms away from his home town. Mr. Mishra expressed his anguish for the poor management of conduction of tournament by the local organizers, though they assured RFI to make the tournament quite successful. Mr. Mishra appealed to the participants to co-operate and assured them it will never be happened in future. He also declared that 1st Jr. National will be organized within 3 months  and a Challenger Trophy will also be introduced shortly.

Executive President's Visit to Vienna

Manoranjan Mishra visited to Vienna on a 10 days trip from 21st may to attend in a seminar organised by International Racketlon Fedration. Sri Mishra participated in the International World Tour Event Vienna Classics and 24 AUTOHÖFE Champions Leauge (21.-23. May), as well as the FIR seminar for country representatives the same weekend. After that his trip took him to witness Racketlon action in Salzburg and finally to a meeting with Czech President Svatopluk Rejthar in Prague. The prize winning ceremony was then held by Sri Mishra together with Walter Danesits from the project India 2020. The RFA has been cooperating with India for years and chosen the asian country as its developing partner in the FIR partnership programme. At the same weekend a FIR Racketlon seminar for country representatives from all over the world was held in Vienna. 15 participants from 14 countries took part. For India the next steps are to find existing sports facilities where all four sports can be played. The longterm aim in 5-7 years is to build a Racketlon Academy in India.

It is just a beginning in India

The First National Racketlon Championship in India was conducted on 27th & 28th Feb 10. Players from many states of India participated. There was a huge gathering at the venue. Most of them were eager to know how Racketlon game is played. Funny thing is most of them know that individual can play in any one event, means their idea was participants can take part any one of the four sports. Anyway, it is just a beginning.

Message Received on the occasion of National Championship --

Dear Racketlon-Starters,
As the Executive President of FIR, the governing body of international Racketlon, it is very inspiring for me to see how our Sport has finally landed in Asia. It is not a coincidence that India as part of the BRIC countries Brasil, Russia, India and China as emerging industrial countries with the fastest economic growth has now also started with Racketlon, the currently fastest growing Sport in the world. I wish you all the best of luck, but mainly the biggest fun when playing the one and only combination of the four biggest Racketsports in the world: Tabletennis, Badminton, Squash and Tennis. However the first tournament in India ends for you, I can promise you that you will be inspired and it will not be your last Racketlon tournament. Last but not least thanks to Manoranjan Mishra, who has set this milestone to organise the first real Racketlon in India ever. You will not regret it, Racketlon has succeeded in all countries it has been started.
 Remember: Every point counts!
Marcel Weigl
Executive President

FIR – Federation Internationale de Racketlon

Dear Manoranjan,
I was very happy to hear from Marcel that you will organise the first Racketlon  tournament in India. Especially since I am one of the first Racketlon organisers and have had tournaments in Sweden from 1992, I now can see with confidence the growth of Racketlon through the world. It is also an honour to welcome you as a member in the International Federation, FIR. I sincerely wish you all the best in your work for Racketlon and hope to see you some time in the future. You are most welcome to look me up if you come to Sweden and Stockholm.
Good luck with the tournament from

The Racketlon Association of South Africa would like to wish all the competitors for this maiden event good luck. May they compete with vigor, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. May they win with humility and lose with dignity and continue to persevere with this beautiful sport of Racketlon. It is truly a milestone and will be the base of all other events to come. India has so much to offer and now is the time to shine. Ours is the sport of strength, excitement and evolvement, so many words to describe and so wonderful to play.

We look forward to receiving you as players, guests and friends here in South Africa. Good luck &
All the best

Patric Kalous
